Studio James began during a time in my life when I was searching for a way to bring a little more order into the chaos — to slow down, collect my thoughts and have a place for everything that was on my mind.
It made me realize how much I valued having something tangible in front of me — a place to gather the thoughts, ideas and plans that otherwise felt scattered.
At the same time, I have always had a love for beautiful, personal things. I notice the little details — the materials, the colors, the way something feels in your hands. I love objects that tell a story and become more meaningful because they belong to one person.
That is where the idea for Studio James started.
I didn’t want to create just another notebook that gets filled, put away and eventually replaced. I wanted to create something that could stay. A journal that changes with you, holds different chapters of your life and becomes more personal the longer you own it.
That is why every Studio James journal is refillable and made from premium vegetable-tanned leather — a material that develops its own character, marks and patina with time. The leather, cords, embossing and charms can be chosen individually, because I believe the things we carry every day should feel like they truly belong to us.
My vision for Studio James is to create more than beautiful journals. I want to create a place for the things we carry around in our minds — thoughts, plans, memories, dreams, lists, ideas and all the little things in between.
